Window Cleaning in Mac-Groveland

Streak-free windows for Mac-Groveland houses and Grand Avenue storefronts, from a crew that lives here.

We Live on This Side of Town

Gleam Team is based on Cretin Avenue South, which puts us inside Macalester-Groveland rather than driving in from a suburb. More of our work happens between Summit and the river than anywhere else in the Twin Cities, and after a few seasons you get to know the housing stock: which blocks have the divided-light sashes, which have the wood storms that still come out every spring.

The business is owned and operated by Alex, every job is backed by the Gleam Guarantee, and you do not pay until the work is done.

What Mac-Groveland Windows Are Like

Three things we plan around on nearly every job in 55105.

Houses built between the wars

Mac-Groveland filled in mostly from the 1900s through the 1930s: Tudors, bungalows, and foursquares, with divided-light sashes, leaded glass, and bay windows. A window that looks like one pane from the sidewalk is often eight or twelve, and each one has corners that hold grime.

The boulevard canopy

The elms and maples that make Summit and the side streets what they are also drop pollen on the glass in May, helicopter seeds into the gutters in June, and a heavy load of leaves every October.

Grand Avenue storefronts

We do the shops and restaurants along Grand too. Storefront glass at street level takes fingerprints, road spray, and salt film all winter, and it is the first thing a customer looks through.

Mac-Groveland Questions

Are you actually based in Macalester-Groveland?

Yes. Gleam Team is on Cretin Avenue South, in the neighborhood. Most of the houses we clean in a given week are within a mile or two of here, which is why we can usually work around your schedule rather than the other way around.

My house has the original wood storms. Can you still clean the windows?

Yes, and it is routine here. We take the storms out, clean both sides of them and the sash behind, clean the screens if they are in, and put everything back the way we found it. It takes longer than a modern double-hung, so tell us when you ask for a quote and we will price it properly rather than surprising you on the day.

How much does window cleaning cost around here?

It starts at $99 and depends mostly on how many panes you have, how many storeys, and whether you want the inside as well as the outside. There is a full breakdown on our St. Paul window cleaning cost page.

When should I book?

Late spring is the busiest, once the pollen has settled and the winter salt film is still on the lower windows. Fall, after the leaves are down, is the other good window, and it pairs well with a gutter cleaning in the same visit so you only pay one trip out.
